Wanda Emily Szczepanowska 1850-1941
Christened Wanda Emily Szczepanowska she was known as Vanda.
She was the grand-daughter of William Scott. William's oldest daughter Juliana married twice. By her first husband she had Vanda who was also an artist. She painted mainly portraits and miniatures. She did well, winning a prize for her 'Study of an Old Lady' She interspersed her painting with colouring photographs for her step-father, the photographer, Cesar Ferranti Her commercial painting career was cut short when she entered a convent age 37. |
